Attention rsDrivers
Over the past few months there have been a flood of
new Mods and Tracks released for NR2003/NR2005.
RaceServers.net has been working very hard to
incorporate those Mods and Tracks into our system.
The 10x series of the rsClient now allows us to add
Mods to the system without requiring our drivers to
download and install a new rsClient. The new rsMod
and rsTrack Managers included in the rsClient allow
Drivers to manage their Mods and Tracks in NR2003,
NR2005 and GTP (Tracks only in GTP) without having
to close the rsClient. This saves the Drivers a lot
of time when trying to join a race at the last
minute and realizing they don't have the correct
track or Mod installed in their Game. In addition to
the rsMod and rsTrack Managers, RaceServers.net has
released the rsUpdater for the rsClient. That means
once you have upgraded to the 10x rsClient drivers
will not have to download and install another
rsClient. When new functionality or bug fixes are
released, they will be available from within the
rsClient itself. If all that isn't enough,
RaceServers.net is the only service that offers
Sierra style Rating Races. Drivers can once
again start working on their Ratings to gain access
to 2-10 Short Track, 5-10 Super Speedway Races,
etc.. We now offer what Sierra turned off, a
fully functional Arena, including Chat and
Ratings...

Now that
the 2007 Racing Season is rolling, we have time to
dispel some of the Myths about the ACDM (Advanced
Cheat Detection Monitoring)
provided as an option to our customers, Below are
the top 5:
#1.
The ACDM is so easy to get around. All you have
to do is rename your Cheat program name.
This is
not correct. Simply changing a programs .exe name
does not change the applications name, the objects
it loads into memory, or the functions it calls. We
had one organization that was testing our system a
short time ago that had a driver claim he renamed
his Cheat to 'IHackedYourServer.exe' and was able to
join the server. Keep one thing in mind drivers that
say they have found a way to get around a Cheat
Detection system are spending their time trying to
hack systems, not developing setups or finding the
best line to run. Is that the kind or drivers you
want to race with?
#2.
I had a Cheat program running and was able to
join the race.
That is
correct, and by design. We welcome all Cheaters to
join our ACDM Races. We want those people to be in
the servers long enough to get exposed for what they
are. ACDM works with a random timer that
periodically checks the Drivers system for actively
running programs and process that are either not
allowed or not needed while the Driver is in a race.
This timer is inactive for the first few minutes
that a Driver joins the server. Once a few Drivers
have joined the server ACDM kicks in and starts to
do its thing. When it finds a program or process
that is not allowed, it notifies the competitors in
that race via a In Race Chat message stating that
the Driver using that unauthorized program or
process was ejected from the race and why.
Therefore; there is no need to keep a posted list of
drivers who use Cheat Programs to be competitive.
#3.
ACDM causes the server to warp.
This is
also not correct. If a driver has Pit Objects turned
on and a driver joins the server, he will see a
screen flash. This is documented by Papyrus.
When organizations test the ACDM system there are
usually a lot of ejections the first few times they
use it. They are trying to validate the claims that
RaceServers.net makes about the system. In doing so,
there are a lot of drivers rejoining the server. If
you are on the track the screen flashing from
drivers rejoining can appear to be warping. We
recently had an organization try out our system and
said our servers had too much warp for their
drivers. They tested for three days (mostly at
night) and logged 85 ACDM ejections. Also they never
ran a single race.
#4.
ACDM ejects drivers for having Email and or Web
Browser running
That is
correct. Email and Web Browsers both can take up a
lot of internet bandwidth. Why does a Driver need to
surf the internet while they are going into the Tri
Oval at Lowes.
#5.
ACDM is a program and RaceServers.net will not share
it with the Sim Racing Community
This is
not true. ACDM is a system. It includes an Arena,
Racing Servers, a Driver Client, a Database, and a
suite of management applications. On several
occasions RaceServers.net has offered Racing Server
Owners the ACDM capabilities. They have declined due
to the rules it require the management of the system
and the level of access to their servers required to
maintain the system. ACDM is not a program, it is
a system!
To
summarize:
The
RaceServers.net ACDM system is the best Anti-Cheat
system available for the online racing community. It
works to provide the fairest online racing
environment anywhere. With ACDM there is no need to
review replays to make a judgment call as to if a
Driver was cheating and then adjust the results of
that race. ACDM is there to make sure the results
are correct at the Checkered Flag. RaceServers.net
has some of the most stable racing servers available
anywhere and offer services not available anywhere
else. If you or your organization are interest in
testing our services please contact
CJ and
if you do decide to test our system, give us a fair
test. Run some races, stay in the servers long
enough for the system to work and you will see as
many others have... WOW, this really does
work!

ACDM Ejections and Explanations
(Advanced
Cheat Detection Monitoring, the
only Cheat Detection System that actually works for
racing online)
Starting
with the rsClient 9.2.9 races running ACDM 3,
Drivers will no longer be able to switch to their
desktop from within the Sim. This was
necessary do to cheaters going around the Cheat
Detection. This is what they were doing:
 |
Starting the rsClient |
 |
Joining an ACDM controlled race |
 |
Switching to their desktop |
 |
Starting their Cheat program |
 |
Changing the race parameters |
 |
Close their Cheat program |
 |
Return to the race |
They
would do this after each mode change of a race.
Cheaters are very creative and dishonest. Some
drivers may have legitimate reasons for needing to
go to their desktops after joining a race. In order
to do so, those drivers will need to Exit the race,
DO NOT CLOSE THE rsClient,
do what they need to do, then rejoin the race
through the rsClient. Non of this would be necessary
if there weren't Cheaters ruining the racing for the
rest of us.
Below is the
ACDM ejection notices
and what should be done to correct the situation so
further ejections don't happen.
First, be sure all drivers know the rule to send you
a screen shot. Screen shots are easy to do.
1.
To do a screen shot, driver holds down the alt key,
and hits the Print Screen key.
2.
Next go to MS Word or Paint and paste the picture.
Save it and attach the picture to an
email to your admin of your league.
Ejection for altered mod cheat.
What server were
you racing on and what mod (mod is cup, Busch, truck
etc.) at the time of ejection.
If you were in a Busch Race something is different
about your Busch mod, if in Cup race something has
altered your Cup mod, etc. So the mod
that was altered in some way, is the one you were
running when you were ejected. You were not ejected
for any other mod in your series folder. Also, be
sure you don't mixed up NR2003 with NR2005 in your
series folder for Cup, Busch or Trucks mods. This
will get you Ejected.
1. Be sure you get
your mods from our download page or the mod builder.
2. Also be careful
about downloading other mods or addons from other
sites as it may be changing your mod in some way
which does not match the servers. Even inside car
changes.
Ejection for altered game cheat
or
altered 2003. exe
1. RaceServers.net realizes the lack of availability
for drivers to purchase a new copy of NR2003 if
their original was to get damaged. We realize and
understand the need for drivers to protect their
original cd. Some programs that are being used to
eliminate the need to have the actual original
game cd in the drive in order to load NR2003 are
triggering the ACDM to eject those drivers for an
altered game or altered 2003 exe. Please use
the cd crack we suggest on our downloads page.
2. If
you downloaded something from other sites, it may
have altered your game, so you may need to reinstall
your game and the patch, which is on our downloads
page. (Be sure to save your current setups and
car files in a separate folder before reinstalling
game.)
Driver is ejected for a known cheat or
Driver is ejected for a suspicious program.
(This could be a program that may emulate a
cheat or be a cheat).
In all of
these ejections, drivers will be told by the
rsClient what they were ejected for. The
driver ejected needs to take a screen shot of that
message and send it to their main admin. If your
driver will not send a screen shot, Admins need to
decide how they will handle those drivers. We
recommend the rule of sending a screen shot and how
to do it, be part of your league rules for leagues
that want to use ACDM for their league races.
Ejection
for unauthorized programs
Unauthorized
programs are programs that use up bandwidth, such as
email and browsers. Anything that takes up
bandwidth can cause warp. Sometimes Spybots
will open up email and browsers so drivers need to
check their system, often by going to the Task
Manager and looking under Processes; you may find (IExplorer
or other browsers running) and causing you to be
ejected. Note: This ejection will only occur when
ACDM is set to Medium or High.
Unnecessary Programs
If you get
this message after leaving a race, this means you
have over 100 processes running in the back ground
and you need to try to limit these processes.
The rsClient will tell you how many you have
running. By shutting down processes you don't
need, your frame rates and connections will be
better and the racing for everyone will
improve. This is just an information warning and
does not eject you from the race.
If your
drivers have other problems be sure to have them
check out the It's Not Working Page as it will
answer most of the questions drivers may have.
We hope you
all enjoy the features we have at RaceServers. net.
Have Fun Racing!
